On April 15, China Acrobats Association celebrates the 16th World Circus Day in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. This annual event was initiated in 2009 by Princess Stéphanie of Monaco and is organized every third Saturday of April by member organizations of the Fédération Mondiale du Cirque (World Circus Federation). The celebration aims to enhance public awareness of circus arts, preserve circus culture, and promote the prosperity of the circus industry. The China Acrobats Association (CAA) has participated in these celebrations annually since joining the World Circus Federation in 2012.

This year’s event was co-organized by the Yinchuan Art Theatre Acrobatic Troupe. They brought a special performance deep into the grassroots community, allowing residents to experience artistic charm right at their doorstep. The community square was packed during the performance, with children and the elderly watching on tiptoe amid waves of applause and cheers.

Yao Xing, head of the Troupe, stated that “Bringing our best skills to the people is the best tribute to World Circus Day.” To ensure the quality of the performance, the entire theatre mobilized, dedicating great effort to this event.

During the performance, a “Question-and-Answer Session on Acrobatics Knowledge” was also held to popularize World Circus Day and the history of Ningxia Acrobatics, thereby enhancing the public’s recognition of acrobatic art and culture.
